Bushey Sr., 81, of Gardner died peacefully at his residence Wednesday evening, June 29, 2022 with his family at his side. Quiet and kind, yet also feisty, “Earl, Dad, Pop-Pop” loved a good laugh and was always quick to share one of his many stories about growing up on a farm in a big family. Many of his tales were of his decades involved in New England Harness Racing.

A son, Raymond J. Bushey, who died in 1991; two brothers, Charles Bushey and Thomas Bushey Jr and a sister, Joan Brothers, preceded him in death. Donald E. Asselin, 79, of Linden Park, died on Sunday evening, November 6, 2022 at home surrounded by loved ones. Born in Gardner on November 27, 1942, he was the son of Ernest A. Donald served in the United States Navy before being honorably discharged. Donald owned and operated Fire Pro-Tec, in Templeton, for many years. Don is survived by his wife Phyllis Asselin, of Gardner; his son, Philip Asselin and his wife, Kristine, of Littleton; and granddaughter, Katherine.

He was born in Gardner on February 12, 1941, son of the late Thomas and Maude Bushey and was a lifelong resident of Gardner.
