The event also included Lucha Libre, comedy, a silent disco and a holiday market. Six food vendors and more than 50 breweries and cideries kept those bellys full like a bowl full of jelly. Last year’s festival featured 19 breweries with roughly 500 craft beer enthusiasts and a dance party. This year’s Festivus will feature at least 24 breweries, from established breweries beer drinkers have come to know and love, to the breweries that are just opening their doors. Holiday parties are taking over the food and drink scene in Denver this week.

Lefebvre is usually on-site one week per month, during which time he stays at the hotel and keeps the overall vision of his restaurant steady. But the day-to-day operations are handled by chef de cuisine Jeff Schwing. So while it may be Lefebvre filling the menu with classics like Escargot and Duck Confit and new plates like Chilaquiles, it’s Schwing who keeps the execution consistent. Beer drinkers were decked out in their favorite ugly sweaters and holiday attire making for some amazing outfits (we even saw multiple Cousin Eddie’s from Christmas Vacation). This years edition spread out over several rooms making it easy to navigate from brewery to brewery with little to no lines. Food was a plenty as a food court had everything from warm pretzels to pizza for you to enjoy. A silent disco was on site providing for some amazing tunes by some of Denvers best DJ’s. If you have never been to one of these we highly suggest you put it on your radar for next year.

When it comes to stand-up comedy, “Denver has always been a do-it-yourself scene,” says Denver comic Ben Bryant. With this knowledge, Bryant set out to do just that and started Denver Comedy Underground . Perceptive Sherlock-like readers might deduce that Denver Comedy Underground would be located underground, and they would be absolutely right.
However, customers often lose the push to try new spots when the price of a good time is more than most are willing to spend.
